The Faith & Health Coalition of York County, originated in 2018, is an organized group of pastors from several local faith-based organizations, in partnership with representatives from area health-related agencies, all interested in taking action at the interface of faith and health. The new Coalition’s VISION is to empower and equip faith-based organizations to positively impact whole-person health in York County, South Carolina.
How will this be done?
The new Coalition will accomplish its MISSION of bridging the community-at-large, agencies, and faith-based organizations to promote health and wellness throughout York County by facilitating sustainable collaboration.
The new Coalition will research “best practices” and promote them as the pathway to success, while also seeking needed financial and human resources to pave the way. The Coalition also is intent on reducing health disparities / health inequities that exist in our geographic area, especially among our minority populations. In addition, preventive health practices, wherever possible, will be championed. The Coalition thus plans to establish itself as the "go-to" group when the community-at-large and community agencies want to partner with the faith community in York County to promote whole-person health and wellness.
